It’s hard to believe that it has been 15 years since Pro-Home Services first opened its doors. For me, it has been a dream come true to have my own business, and also help an industry where there is often little trust between the consumer and the craftsman.
In fact, it was this lack of trust in the industry that made me want to enter the roofing business. When I was selling windows for Alside I would hear my customers complain about the shoddy workmanship on their newly installed roof. As they told me the things they didn’t like about their roofer, I began to see a niche I could fill. I was determined to start a roofing company that took to heart the homeowner’s experience throughout the process.
In 2003, I launched the business out of my home, as most entrepreneurs do. I first found a pocket of customers nearby, in Glen Ellyn and Wheaton. Soon I added siding, windows and doors to my capabilities. Since I always believe in what I’m selling, I kept Alside in my preferred brands and still have them with me today.
In 2008, I opened my office in Glen Ellyn. Instead of building a showroom, I decided to adopt a business model based on the initial home visit and estimate. I still bring color samples to customer’s homes so that they can see what they look like on their roof, next to their siding, etc.
So here we are 15 years later and when people ask me how I got here, what’s my secret sauce, I only have one word to offer:
It is through people that I have been able to do the work I do and through people that I have built a reputation and trust among my customers.
I’m proud to say I have a team of about 30 talented, dedicated professionals working for me ranging from part-time representatives to full-time skilled installers and foremen. Pro-Home Services can only be as good as it is because of my team, so I owe thanks to Arthur Partyka, my foreman, who really cares about pleasing the customer, and Stanley and Peter Stanek, my dynamic duo of siding installers, have helped make us what we are today, as well as all my roofers who reach new heights (literally) to please our customers.
Last but not least, thanks to you, my clients, and any of you who have ever written a positive review or passed my name along to your friends and neighbors. I have grown organically and you have helped make it happen.
